This is a heads up for you to plan on going by the Yosemite Museum Gallery on your next trip. Beginning June 8 will be a nice exhibition called Views & Visitors. It highlights life in the park from 1900 to 1946 (the start of the Baby Boom).  They will have photographs, paintings, souvenirs, recordings and films.  One neat feature will be transportation in the Park. A highlight for me is the display of the first motorcycle in the park.        I saw it during a trip to the Warehouse in El Portal last year. Seems it was donated by a man who had ridden it to Yosemite only to get grief from the authorities for the noisy two-wheeler grinding away. The Museum is near the Visitor Center. The exhibition will run until October 31.

If you’ve asked for permits on this blog, hang in there.  Here’s a couple of sucess stories from happy hikers I want to share:

1. Thank you for the tip (ref. post on 5/20). I got online and successfully reserved a couple of pair of permits on the morning of June 1st.

 2. Just wanted to post a reply to say that we have very kindly been sent the permits we needed for the 9th September by Christy from Florida, thanks so much for your help! Also big thanks again to Mr Half Dome for setting this page up to enable people to get the permits they need with the help of each other.

A good source of info on Half Dome is the park’s website. They have done a very good job of provided tips on doing it safely. (My theme too.) Read the info the park puts out – They even have a nice video hosted by Ranger Vicky Mates. Click <HERE>.

Keep out of the rain this weekend!  Carpe Diem – Seize the Day!
