YNP is taking a major leap into the 21st Century with the impending use of internet technology to increase citizen outreach.  I will claim some credit for bugging many park employees to begin having meetings via webinar. Most  the planning  sessions have been at the park at odd times for flatlanders to get up and participate. A 5-hour drive from the Bay area is a great waste  of time and out of state and international fans have been shut out. With hundreds of thousands of members of support groups, it just makes sense to utilize economical web based tools to communicate instead of having a very small group drive up to the park for sessions.  The WEBEX system will be used for  upcoming Merced River Plan Spring Workshops. Go to yose.webex.com, to register.

Now there is NO EXCUSE for not participating in the planning process. Please mark down these dates. You can attend from your home, office or local coffee shop. A webinar is brought up on your screen and the presenter can narrate the talk and you can see the slides on your monitor. Typically, it is a one-way event with questions solicited via email at the end. The park will announce the format. WEBEX will set up a site that you can go to see a replay if you miss the live session. We’ll find all this out on the first one.  You can also attend in person at the venue indicated.
