My motto in life is Carpe Diem – or “Seize the day.” In support of that idea, I am going to carp some diem in Southern Florida for a week.  I’ll be on a big Harley Electra Glide heading to Key West with some diving thrown in along the way. So I may be a bit tardy in posting the blog and approving comments.

The Permit Exchange site is actually working. I am seeing a few folks transferring permits. I do not get in the middle of any of this. It is between yall. We now have over 300 posts to that page with most asking. It will be easy to be lost in the shuffle so don’t assume anyone is going to spend a whole lot of time tracking you down. I’d suggest if you see a match – email them directly. Don’t just reply to a comment. Yours may be buried the middle of the pack and never get read.  Insist on folks providing a contact means. Take the discussion off line and solve your problem. Make it easy on the giver to connect with you.

Some of you show great frustration in the permit process. It’s good to vent here, but if you really want to let the Park know your feelings, tell them. You can write the Park Superintendent. Remember it’s OUR park; the NPS just administers it for us.  A nice letter to Don Neubacher, Superintendent, Yosemite National Park, Attn: Half Dome Trail Permits
P.O. Box 577, Yosemite, CA 95389 will do some good.

Thanks for reading each day – all I ask is 3 minutes. And Carpe Diem

Take the cruise to Dry Tortugas National Park from Key West. It is awesome! Fort Jefferson is huge, and the island is surrounded by coral.
