Yosemite Conservancy Job Opening

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing

When the Yosemite Assn and the Yosemite Fund merged, the head of  YA departed. They are now trying to fill that position – calling it a General Manager. Interested? This is a great opportunity for a Yosemite fan with good skill sets. I’m not interested – I love just being Mr Half Dome. It is a full time position overseeing the El Portal office, runnng programs and general operations of the Yosemite Conservancy including education, wilderness, art, volunteer programs, human resources and general administration. Key YC functions will report to him/her including the Volunteer Program Manager, Wilderness Program Manager, Resident Naturalist, Art and Education Coordinator and the Office Manager/Human Resources Administrator.  The General Manager reports to the Vice President of YC in the San Francisco office.

Among the skills needed: Masters degree, 7 years of related experience leading and managing nonprofit operations, knowledge of Yosemite National Park and experience working with the National Park Service. That sound like you??  Go for it!! Contact YosemiteConservancy@gmail.com

Other stuff: Survivor starts up again on CBS on Feb 16.  I no longer have to tape it since they show the complete episode on the internet the next day –with only 30 second commercials. I applied for Survivor 13 – China, along with 30,000 others. Didn’t get chosen.

Unrelated thought worth quoting: I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.” – A wise old man.

Rick, which “Survivor” favorite is most similar to your personality, talents, and the strategic approach you would take? Russell? Rupert? Jimmy Johnson? Johnny Fairplay?

  2. John Says:

Anyone ever do the Mt. Dana summit hike which starts at the Tioga Pass entrance station?
