Continuing John Muir’s Journey

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing

Announcing a coming attraction!  The Oakland Museum is putting on a first class exhibition on John Muir. It’s called: “A Walk in the Wild: Continuing John Muir’s Journey.” I’ve been working with the curator, Dorris Welch, on the Half Dome perspective. We filmed a day at the cables in High Definition last June. I’ve seen the footage and it’s is very cool. The museum will have a large area and will  examine John Muir’s life and we see how he continues to influence our relationship with the natural world. A feature is the theme of “Modern Day Muirs.” These are individuals who continue his energy. Also on display will be several journals, manuscripts, and original drawings.  Block out the dates and put it on your 2011 calendar NOW.  August 6, 2011 – January 22, 2012

If your company, group or association needs a shot of adrenaline at your next gathering, consider a motivation talk from yours truly. I have several topics and I tie in Half Dome as a metaphor for life. It’s not a hiking talk , but will give you a new perspective on goal setting and overcoming obstacles along the way. Take a look at my speaking website <HERE> and have your programs person contact me. I’m booking out my 2011 schedule now and would appreciate a chance to meet your group.  Thanks in advance.

PS – I’ll be lecturing on the SilverSea Cruise ship in the Caribbean until Jan 4 and will try to feed the blog – check in for the continuing saga of Carpe Diem Experience.
