Today I want to introduce you to a non-profit company called Lasting Adventures.

You may already be aware of them. Scott Gerhman is the affable head cook and bottle washer. For over 14 years he’s guided hundreds of hikers in the Yosemite environs. Their focus has been on providing safe outdoor experiences for youth. But they also provide outstanding tours for adults as well. The staff are all top notch, experienced backpackers and outdoors men & women.
I often get requests to lead groups up my favorite spot – Half Dome. Through a special relationship, I will be guiding a limited number of trips for Lasting Adventures. These will be the whole enchilada: a history, geology and “get me to the top” program. We can only take a small number of guests so if you want Mr. Half Dome to talk your ears off and make your brain hurt from all my years of experience, sign up. You’ll need to contact Lasting Adventures for specifics; we will try to shoot for mid-week trips, but I do have a bucket of weekend permits just in case. I am not a Sherpa or concierge, so you will need to commit to full participation. Everyone who registers will receive a free copy of my book, “One Best Hike: Yosemite’s Half Dome.” It’s the only complete guide to this extremely strenuous hike. You will be expected to read it and train for this hike. Anyone can do the hike with Education, Preparation and Motivation. How much? $125. A bargain at twice the price. As soon as we fill up and commit, you’ll need to book accommodations in or near the park. Call Scott for all the details. 1-800-513-8651  Read the website and book NOW. Click <here>
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Most wild animals get into the world and out of it without being noticed. Nevertheless we at last sadly learn that they are all subject to the vicissitudes of fortune like ourselves.” – John Muir, 1913
