A ponderous thought

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing

Monday night I attended a presentation in San Francisco by the Mickey Mantle of archaeology, Egypt’s Zahi Hawass. His official title is the … are you ready … The Secretary General of the Supreme Council on Antiquities.

He personally controls the management of the Pyramids, Sphinx, Valley of the Kings and the universe of the Pharonic Kingdoms and dynasties.  He was in town to expand on the recent findings about King Tutanhkamun. He shared fresh information (like only DAYS old) on some fantastic finds. Bigger than Howard Carter’s finding of King Tut’s tomb. He is returning to Egypt Saturday to continue the “dig” of Seti III’s tomb. They have excavated a 700 foot deep corridor that may reveal a sarcophagus room containing riches beyond imagination.  So what does all this have to do with your interest in Half Dome?

Well, as I was absorbed in the talk, I mused that there may be a cosmic connection to Egypt. Ready for my theory? The Great Pyramid of Khufu ((or as the Greeks dubbed him “Cheops,”) soars 481 feet above the Giza plateau. It is massive and sports sides at a 52 degree angle. Now, the Half Dome cables span 425 feet vertical feet. If you extended that to the actual apex, it would also be about 481 feet. Next, the incline of the slope is a solid 45 degrees and approaches 52 degrees in many spots. Hmmmm. Odd coincidence?  Think about it. We know the Pyramids were built by alien visitors from galaxies far far away. What does that imply for Half Dome? Think about it. Keep watching the skies!

Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Now when he was a young man, he never thought he’d see, people stand in line, to see the boy king. (King Tut) How’d you get so funky? They said you do the monkey. Born in Arizona, moved to Babylonia, King Tut.” – Steve Martin
