Lost Lake

Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
So where is “Lost Lake?”  Guess that’s why it’s lost. There is really such a place in Yosemite. I’ve not actually seen it, but I plan to this spring.  It lies between the real Mt. Broderick and Half Dome. It’s on the way to the Diving Board, where Ansel Adams took his famous Half Dome shot. My goal is to get to the Diving Board this May.

Lost and found

It is supposedly more of a swamp than a seasonal lake. I don’t think you can filter-pump water there because of the dense sediment. But supposedly it feeds a creek that runs between Mt. Broderick and Liberty Cap. Anyone out there know fer shure?
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “From North and South and East and West, the Coast Guard’s in the fight. Destroying subs and landing troops, the Axis feels our might. For we’re the first invaders, on every fighting field. Afloat, ashore, on men and Spars, you’ll find the Coast Guard shield.” – Coast Guard Anthem
