Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
If you did your Half Dome hike over the Labor Day weekend, you might have seen a lot of bright, white teeth. Huh? This was the annual Climb for a Cause trek. Centered in Chicago, the Climb For A Cause program promotes adventure travel as a means of supporting dental and oral health education. Organized by Daniel Bobrow, executive director, CFAC has done over a dozen treks up some pretty tough dirt including Mt. Hood, The Grand Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Mt Whitney and this year, Half Dome. The proceeds are being targeted to helping with dental work in Guatemala. Participants are often Dentists, the dental industry as well as support staff and other interested men and women. I assisted by doing a webinar on safely hiking Half Dome to folks who signed up. They also read my Half Dome hiking guide. To donate or to learn more click on the CFAC website. A tip of the hat to all participants and remember to floss! :>)
